Perspex Sheets – 1mm Crystal Clear Acrylic Panels

Our Perspex sheets are 1mm thick, the lightest option in our range and easy to work with. Cut to your exact size, or pick a standard size straight off the shelf. Every sheet is genuine, high-grade material, checked for quality before it's sent out.

Popular applications

  • Picture framing and glazing replacement
  • Small protective covers and screens
  • Craft projects and model making
  • Lightweight display pieces
  • Cabinet inserts and small glazing jobs

Product Overview

Perspex is just our name for 1mm Acrylic, the thinnest and lightest sheet we do. If you've heard the two called different things, don't worry; they're the same material family. This is simply the thinnest cut of it. It's easy to carry, easy to cut down further if you need to, and doesn't ask much of you to handle on your own.

It's not going to hold any real weight or span any distance without support, and it's not meant to. This is the sheet for small, light jobs, think picture frames rather than shelving.

Key Features

Key product features include:

  • Lightweight 1mm clear acrylic sheet
  • Designed for picture framing, glazing and other fully supported uses
  • Made-to-measure rectangle and square cutting available
  • Easy to handle and suitable for careful trimming with appropriate tools
  • Dimensions and surface condition checked before dispatch

Where is Perspex Sheet Best Used?

Our Perspex sheet is a practical choice for lightweight jobs where the sheet is fully supported and doesn't need to hold any real weight on its own. It's a popular pick anywhere a thin, clear, easy-to-cut material does the job better than glass.

Common uses include:

  • Picture framing and glazing replacement
  • Small protective covers and screens
  • Craft projects and model making
  • Lightweight display pieces
  • Cabinet inserts and small glazing jobs

Things to keep in mind:

  • Not suited to anything that needs to stand up unsupported
  • Not the right choice for shelving or load-bearing use
  • For anything needing more strength, 2mm, 3mm or 5mm Acrylic is the better fit

For small, light jobs, Perspex gives you exactly what you need without paying for strength you'll never use.

Cutting Accuracy & Quality

Every sheet is cut to the size on your order, not roughly close to it. We check it before it goes out, so you're not the one discovering it's a few millimetres off after you've already tried fitting it. It has the same standard as the rest of our range.

Care & Cleaning Tips

A few things worth knowing to keep it looking right.

  • Use a soft cloth; anything rough or abrasive will scratch it
  • Warm water and a bit of washing up liquid is all you need
  • Avoid glass cleaners or anything with ammonia; it can crack or cloud the surface over time
  • Dry with a clean cloth rather than air drying; it stops watermarks forming

Being thin, it's a bit more prone to scratches than the thicker sheets, so a gentle hand goes a long way.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Perspex the same as Acrylic?

Perspex is a widely recognised name for acrylic sheet. On this website, the Perspex option refers to a lightweight 1mm clear acrylic sheet.

Is it strong enough for anything beyond framing?

At 1mm, this sheet is intended mainly for framing, glazing and other fully supported applications. Choose 2mm, 3mm or 5mm acrylic when the project needs greater strength or rigidity.

Can I cut it down myself?

It can be trimmed carefully using an appropriate scoring or cutting method. For an accurate finished size, send the required dimensions through the Made to Measure form.

Does it scratch easily?

The thin sheet can mark or scratch if handled with abrasive materials. Keep the protective film in place until fitting where possible, and clean it only with a soft cloth and suitable solution.
