2mm is the thinnest Acrylic we do, Perspex aside. It's light, it's easy to cut down further if you need to, and it doesn't feel like a chore to carry around or fit into place on your own.
If you've ever tried carrying a thick sheet of glass or a heavier Acrylic board, you'll know why people like this one. It's not the strongest sheet in our range, and it's not trying to be. It does one thing well: light jobs that don't need a lot of muscle behind them.

Beam Saw gives you a clean, straight edge. Nothing fancy, does the job, and it's the cheaper option. On the other hand, laser cut gives you a smoother edge with a bit of shine, more like glass.
If the edge is going to be hidden away or covered, don't bother paying extra for Laser Cut. If it's on show, like on a display piece or a bit of signage people will actually look at, it's worth it.
Cutting Accuracy & Quality
Every sheet gets cut to the size on your order, not roughly close to it. We check it before it leaves, so you're not the one finding out it's a few millimetres off after you've already tried fitting it. It happens with some suppliers; it won't happen here.
Care & Cleaning Tips
A few things worth knowing if you want to keep it looking good.
- Use a soft cloth, not something rough or abrasive; it'll scratch
- Warm water with a bit of washing up liquid does the job fine
- Steer clear of glass cleaners or anything with ammonia in it; it can cause the surface to crack or go cloudy over time
- Dry it with a clean cloth rather than letting it air dry; it stops watermarks building up

Is 2mm strong enough for shelving?
2mm acrylic is suitable only for lightly loaded shelving that is fully supported. For greater rigidity or wider spans, choose 3mm or 5mm and confirm the support arrangement.
Can I cut it down to a smaller size myself?
It can be cut carefully using a suitable scoring method or fine-tooth blade. To reduce the risk of damage or inaccurate sizing, you can also send the finished dimensions through the Made to Measure form.
Will it go yellow over time?
Normal indoor use should not cause noticeable yellowing. Long-term exposure to strong direct sunlight and unsuitable cleaning chemicals can affect many plastics, so consider the installation environment and follow the care guidance.
